Demons of Ludlow (1983) by director Bill Rebane, a movie about an evil piano. Yes, a piano that is possesed. I have to admit I actually like Bill Rebane movies. Yes I know they are "bad" but for some reason I like them. They have an honesty and enthusiasm, occasionally they even have scenes that are memorable.

Demons of Ludlow starts with a memorable scene, it was memorable, not for horror inducing, it was unintentionally hilarious .The residents of some small village, town, gather to welcome the return of the historic piano. Rarely have I seen such blissful fascination with what appesrs to be a rather cheap looking piano. Was the year 1983 really that bad, that boring, that an old piano was so captivating?

Watching the movie I was aware that I had seen another movie that was similar but involved copious amounts of fog, The Fog perhaps? Only instead of fog this film had an evil piano. At one stage the ghosts appear to be dressed in rustic clothes from centuries ago, then next time they are pirates who like nothing more than a good sword fight.

The movie is bad, but it's a good bad. It will make you laugh. There is a smattering of gore for those who like such thing's and some scenes are actually quite disturbing. The scene with the young woman, and the dinner party for example. Some of the special effects are passable, such as the ghostly hand. The acting and the dialogue are, however, sadly awful.

I still enjoyed the movie, there are worse movies.
