The inevitable mutant (zombie.) apocalypse has occurred and as per the "rules" of such movies there will the inevitable survivors trying to...survive. Mutants is the French version of this formula and it does a pretty good job of it.
It is difficult not to make a comparison with 28 Days Later but this movie does tread that path. Like 28 Days Later the zombies aren't technically zombies. In 28 Days Later the zombie like creatures are humans infected with a virus. In Mutants the zombie like creatures are, you guessed it, infected with a virus.
Unlike classic zombies in movies such as Night of the Living Dead these zombies are turbo charged zombies. 28 Days Later features similar creatures who are even faster from memory. I dont have a problem with this, but some people probably do.
Back to the film. It is in my opinion not on a par with 28 Days Later but if you liked 28 Days Later you should check this movie out. The plot is decent, if somewhat of a cliche, and there are twists that you might not see coming. The acting and special effects are also good.
I would recommend watching this movie if you are a fan of turbo charged zombies.
