I am old enough to remember Police Academy 2, and I remember that Bobcat Goldthwait's character was quite amusing, this movie on the other hand I found rather boring. I usually like movies about big foot, but this one just failed on so many levels.
I will admit that when Blair Witch was released I was not a fan of the found footage genre, but over time I have come to tolerate them, and in some cases they can be very effective. This movie reminded me of why I initially disliked them.
The plot is a simple one, two idiots go into the woods, get lost, and find more than they bargained for. It has become such a cliche now that if I watched a found footage film in which people successfully navigate and exit the woods I would probably give it a standing ovation .
Jim is a big foot believer, and Kelly his partner is a sceptic. The main characters are just like any characters in a scenario involving woods, destined to get lost. But before they get lost we have the traditional slow build up, the mock interviews etc. The best part of the film for me was when they visited the diner and had a big foot sandwich, it looked delicious!
Anyway, the two idiots go into the woods, of course one of them says, oh noes there is no cell phone reception, my goodness imagine that. What should be the most interesting part of the film is actually the most boring. Two people sit in a tent whilst the film crew made noises. I wont spoil it by saying anymore but I am sure you can guess how this ends.
I really hope big foot never sees this film, its enough to enrage anyone. Avoid it, as you might avoid a steaming pile of sasquatch droppings.
2 out of 10 , only because of the delicious sandwich and I forgot to mention the guy who plays guitar and sings about big foot is humorous.
