Did you see that? Why yes  I did! Pun intended, hold on don't leave, I promise no more awful puns. I have to admit I had never heard of this movie until it's writer sent me a link via Twitter. It's always good to check out movies that are relatively unknown or movies made without a big budget. The horror genre is I believe more forgiving, more accepting of low budget movies,  as horror has always been slightly looked down upon by the Hollywood "establishment." With that in mind, let's check out this movie.

The plot of the movie revolves around a powerful book of magic. Four college seniors decide to use the book to help their amorous quests. Chaka removes the spell book from her teacher, Mildred the witch. The spell, however, is dangerous and she overestimates her ability as a student of magic. Luckily, Lamar who is the brother of one of the young women, interupts the spell and the demon does not fully enter into their world. In order to fully pass through the door the demon must kill every one involved in the ritual. Can Lamar and witch Mildred defeat the evil and will anyone survive the night of horror that ensues?

Did You See That? Is a movie made on a micro budget and like any movie made on a micro budget it will have technical issues. In this case namely the sound, however, the movie comes with subtitles should you require them. The cinematography of the movie is surprisingly good in parts, some of the night scenes are nicely lit. The acting is, however, quite poor apart from Carly Jones who plays Felicia, she is definitely the star of the movie. That said, the story is strong and the dialogue is good also.

The movie looked like a lot of fun to make and the film is not without merit. There is even some comedy relief in the form of a deputy law enforcement officer who has the intelligence of a brick. All in all it's good clean fun. I think it's easy to be over critical of movies made on a micro budget. The question I always ask myself is, given a micro budget, could I make a better movie? In this case, no I could not. With that in mind, if you are open minded about a low budget movie check it out on Vimeo.com.
